Cracks

According to DIN 4074, dry cracks (possible due to the non-negative structure of the wood) are generally acceptable, as static and durability are not adversely affected.

Dry cracks on 3-ply panels on the outer surface are natural behavior and acceptable (they can occur especially if the surface has been treated with darker, tinted opaque colors), as the static and durability of the panels are not adversely affected.

Knots

Variable and characteristic of wood depending on the type of wood. In equipment / garden sheds, garages, sheds, etc., healthy but sometimes more knotty wood is used than e.B. in furniture construction.

Sinisis and mold

Our processed untreated wood has a residual moisture content of 14-16% when leaving the factory. Further moisture absorption after delivery to the customer can increase the residual moisture content. At about 18% moisture content, wood may experience point and streak discoloration due to blue fungus. To avoid this, use a primer with preventive protection.

Cross-sectional change

This is a perfectly normal and typical behavior of wood, with unpainted wood more so than wood treated with glaze or opaque paint.

Resin

Subsequent resin leakage occurs with softwoods such as northern spruce. Unavoidable, especially in direct sunlight or warm weather.

Core

It consists of a porous fabric and belongs to the natural appearance of the wood material, is found longitudinally inside the trunk and does not rot or damage the wood.

Discoloration

With an opaque white colour, it is always possible that yellowish-brown discolouration (knot acidity) will be visible. This cannot be prevented despite the use of high-quality impregnation (substrate blocking) and colours.
